Every year, Monaco welcomes new arrivals, with plenty of money to spend… Why do they decide to move to Monaco?
We always ask our clients considering a move to Monaco what attracts them to the Principality.
Here are the five answers that come up most often:
An outstanding natural setting
Live in Monaco, to enjoy the best of the Côte d’Azur! Positioned between Nice and Menton, the climate is particularly mild, thanks to the unusual geographical configuration of this particularly well-oriented, narrow strip of land, wedged between the sea and the mountains. Throughout the seasons, the Mediterranean is showcased in all its glory, in the wild coves of the coast. In winter, the nearby mountain offers skiing in one of Mercantour’s many ski resorts, as well as hiking in the summer.
A favourable economic environment
Monaco is an important economic and financial hub in Europe, noted for its great stability. Monaco is also very well-connected to plenty of destinations, wherever your business may take you. Nice airport, nearby, is France’s no. 1 airport outside Paris, with direct flights to over 100 destinations.
An unrivalled level of security
Monaco has the means to ensure a high level of security for its residents: there is a strong police presence with more than 500 police officers and permanent surveillance with more than 600 surveillance cameras, over an area of 2 square kilometres! Delinquency rates are extremely low.
A favourable tax system
For natural persons residing in Monaco, there are no taxes on income, capital gains or capital. Nor is there any inheritance tax for direct descendants.
French citizens do not benefit from this very advantageous taxation system, except for those who lived in Monaco for at least five years before October 1962. French citizens can, however, benefit from the inheritance tax system for any property they own in the Principality.
A rich social and cultural life
Life in Monaco is lively and enjoyable, with so many activities across such a small area! Newcomers usually fit in very quickly because people in Monaco are not on the defensive, and are happy to share their passions and hobbies.
