The new Larvotto: a major project signed Renzo Piano
The project presented at the beginning of May 2019 is ambitious and proposes a real renovation of the district. Overall, the walks will be restructured and the commercial surfaces will be enlarged.
In the long term, the high promenade will be shaded by a pergola covered with photovoltaic panels. A children's playground will be installed. A bike path about a kilometer long will be created, away from traffic, between the offshore extension and the new Larvotto.
The beach will be better protected thanks to the installation of breakwaters. Beach restaurants will have indoor rooms and will be able to continue their activity all the year.
Globally, an additional 2,000 sqm will be created thanks to this project since it will reach approximately 4,850 sqm of built space in place of the current 2,850 sqm.

The new Larvotto: Budget and planning
The project budget is between 50 and 80 million euros, including 20 millions supported by the SAM Anse du Portier, the concessionaire of the offshore extension.
The work must begin in September 2019 and the beach will be inaccessible until the summer of 2020. It will be possible to enjoy the beach during the summer of 2020, before work resumes in September 2020. The end of the work is planned for the beginning of the year 2022.
A project that strengthens the attractiveness of the Larvotto district, but also nearby neighborhoods such as Monte Carlo and La Rousse, which allow easy access to the beach.
